Visit the museum at Lindholm Høje. Use the museums school service. See the Viking Castle by Aggersund.

Aalborg as industrial city

Visit historic museum and se the exhibition from the industrial childhood. Take a walk on the dock. Visit Aalborg Øst and Grønlandshavnen. Visit the working-class district in Vestbyen short from the youth hostel with 2- and 3 rooms apartments from 1920 and 1930. Visit to companies at Estrella or Spritfabrikken. Visit Aalborg Post Office.

Aalborg as the center of IT-development in Denmark

Visit the university science park, NOVI, or institutions who works with IT-development. Visit Nordjyske Stiftstidende. Visit KMD. Visit Aalborg Post Office.

Nature - culture. Threatened species of animals.

Visit Aalborg Zoo og use the school service. Limfjorden is rigth next to the youth hostel. There is a ferry only 5 min. walk from the youth hostel with the opportunity of walking round the island.

Development in the retail trade

In Aalborg it is possibel to see the development in the retail trade from the past 100 years. There is little shops at Kastetvej short from the youth hostel as they where in 1950, pedestrian streets with department stores, Aalborg Storcenter with lots of shops and Friis which is a shopping mall.

Church and religion

Budolfi kirke (cathedral) and the monastery/convent is the oldest churces in Aalborg. There is also modern churces, and a Catholic church in the town.

Sports Mecca

See AAB at stadion at an home match. Visit Gigantium - one of Denmarks biggest sports centre. Try skating at Aalborg ice rink or see an ice hockey match the same place. Aalborg open-air swimming pool is open in the summer and lies only 800m from Danhostel Aalborg. Play ball games at our lawn.

Denmark in war

Visit the garrison museum short from the youth hostel. Viset the barracks. Aalborg airport is base for the Danish Air Force.
