The staff on Danhostel Aalborg is always trying to be very friendly and comply with a disable person - and other guest at Danhostel Aalborg.
Danhostel Aalborg is not a handicap friendly building according to todays standards. The buildings are almost 25 years old, and are build after the standards back then. At that time the needs from a disaple person was meet with shared handicap toilets and showers, but today most of our guest wants their own toilet and bath in the room.
The disaple persons who visit Danhostel Aalborg has different demands to their ovenigth stayings. We recommend that the disapled person send someone to tjeck our facilitities beforehand to see if the demands can be fulfilled.
Our advantage is that the building is in ground floor with an entrance from the outside to each room. After an appointment with the staff it can be arranged to park relatively close to the room. There is no doorstep to the mainbuilding or to the cafeteria. Some rooms have support by the toilets. We have some toilet equipments which can be borrowed in the reception. One room have a double door to the shower cabinet, which can be pushed aside so the bath can be entered from to sides in 90 cm width. Our beds are relativly high, but there are limits for have hugh the distange must be to the upper berth.
The size of the beds are 210 cm x 90 cm, which makes them huge enough for almost everybody.
There is relatively hugh space in the bath rooms in the main building where we also have a shower. Some prefere to use them while staying at the youth hostel.
